Larry Dunn was a retired Computer Programmer but his true passion was Square Dance Calling.  He began calling square dances over 50 years ago.  He formed his first square dance club, the Village Squares in 1964 and it still remains active today.  To encourage non-dancers to try this fun activity, the club would put on demo dances at the Erie County Fair, the Kenmore Memorial Day Parade, Darien Lake, Cheektowaga Town Park, First Night Buffalo, Taste of Buffalo, Pilot Field and many other places.

With his patient fun-loving style he taught square dancing from the Beginner level to the difficult Challenge levels, as well as, Line Dancing and Round Dancing.  He loved seeing dancers smile, laugh and forget their troubles at a square dance.  He called square dances all over Western New York, Canada, Ohio and Pennsylvania at various festivals and conventions.  He had a zest for life which was reflected in his square dance calling.  He was a long time member of the Callerlab an organization of Square Dance callers.

Always the entertainer and being so proud of his Irish heritage, he developed a calling routine for festivals dressed as a Leprechaun and people loved it.
