June 2, 1931 – March 23, 2024
Of Kenmore, NY. Beloved husband of 60 years to the late Joan Blampied Barton; Dear father of David (Sandy), Pamela, James H. (Marybeth), and Paul (Ann) Barton; Devoted grandfather of David (Jen) Whitney, Lauren Whitney, Sara, Maria (Joe) and Andrew Barton, Matthew and Nicolina Barton, James E. (Aimee) and Thomas Barton; Loving step-grandfather of Matt (Amy) Kaiser and Jessica (Nick) Richardson; Adoring Great-Grandfather of Olivia Whitney and step-“Great-Grampa Jim” of Eli and Ethan Kaiser, and Nora Richardson; Brother of Joan (late Arthur) Gover. Sadly, missed by his dearest Nancy (Ball).
Jim proudly served in the Navy during the Korean War, on the aircraft carrier USS Lake Champlain. His career as a science teacher in the Ken-Ton school district spanned 30 years. Jim was a devoted and active member of Kenmore Presbyterian Church his entire life.
Friends may call at D. LAWRENCE GINNANE FUNERAL HOME 3215 Delaware Ave, Kenmore, Friday April 5th, 5:00 - 8:00 PM. All are invited to attend a Memorial Service on Sunday April 7th at 2:00 pm, at Kenmore Presbyterian Church, 576 Delaware Rd. Kenmore 14223.
