DAHLBERG - James L.
December 26, 1942 - September 30, 2025
Beloved husband of 55 years and companion on life’s many journeys to Deborah Bellissimo Dahlberg; brother of John (Carol) Dahlberg, Peter (Anita) Dahlberg and the late Tom Dahlberg: cousin of Thomas (Cheryl Leszczewicz) Mueller.
Jim began work as a teller at M and T Bank, having been recommended for the job by Jack Yellen, who wrote the lyrics to “Happy Days Are Here Again” , and was a neighbor of Jim’s family in Springville, NY. Jim worked his way up to become Vice President of Internal Bank Operations. While living in Buffalo, Jim was active in the Unitarian Universalist Church of Buffalo, serving first as treasurer, and then President of the Board of Trustees. After 26 years at M and T Bank, Jim retired. Jim and his wife moved to Chautauqua County and began second careers as Proprietors/Host and Hostess for 17 years of the William Seward Inn, a popular bed and breakfast in Westfield NY, where Jim was known for his fine culinary skills. After retiring from the Inn, Jim and Debbie returned to Buffalo where he earned great praise working for HOME (Housing Opportunities Made Equal) until shortly before his death. Jim will be remembered for his kindness, hard work and humor.
No prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend Jim’s memorial service which will be held at 2:00 PM on Tuesday, October 30th in the Conference Room of HighPointe on Michigan, 1031 Michigan Ave, Buffalo 14203, where Jim’s wife resides.
