KELLER – Joan Marie (nee: Stedem)

Of Kenmore, NY October 29, 2023

Beloved wife of 30 years to the late Richard R. Keller; Dear mother of Matthew (Karen) Keller, Robert (Kathleen) Keller, Kathryn (Wayne Hooper) Massey, Joseph Keller, Suzanne (William) Keller-Eleey and Mary (David) Skorupski. 

Relatives and friends are invited to a Memorial Mass at St. Andrew RC Church 1525 Sheridan Dr. Kenmore Friday (November 3rd) at 9:30 AM. Please meet at church. Interment Mt. Olivet Cemetery.

Memorials to Hospice Buffalo or a charity of your choice is preferred.

Joan Marie Stedem Keller, was born February 24, 1932 to Dr. Daniel and Lillian Jacob-Stedem, Joan grew up in Kenmore along with her brothers Daniel and William.  A graduate of Mount St. Mary’s Academy class of 1949.  She was also a graduate of Chown’s Business School.  Soon after graduation she went by boat on a European trip with her parents visiting many countries.  April 27, 1957, she married Richard Keller and had six children together.  The family spent many summer vacations in the Adirondacks at Lake Piseco and later Roads End on Sacandaga Lake and Long Beach, Canada.  As the years went by, she acquired hobbies such as knitting, wood working, and ceramics.  She became a Girl Scout leader and a CYO Assistant.  She supported St. Andrew’s Church and donated to them a Gift of Life Trust.  She became a Eucharist Minister and gave communion to the sick at Kenmore Mercy Hospital for over 30 years.

She is survived by her children:  Matthew (Karen), Robert (Kathleen), Kathryn (Wayne Hooper) Massey, Joseph, Suzanne (William) Keller-Eleey and Mary (David) Skorupski.  Her Grandchildren: Ashlei, Daniel (Jennine), Chad (Kathryn), Christopher (Mollie), Jessica, Rachelle, Scott, Thomas, and twins John & Sarah.  Her Great-grandchildren: Xalo, Varyn, Benjamin, Lilliaunna, Finnley, and triplets River, Maverick & Westin.  She is also survived by her sister-in-law Dolores Keller-Stuhler and many nieces and nephews. 

She loved life, her husband, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren.  She was loved by all that met her.
