Beloved wife of 57 years to the late Donald C. Miller; Dear mother of Daun M.(late S. John Scirri) Miller, Allen (Elizabeth) Miller and the late Douglas A. Miller; loving grandmother of Christopher (Kylee) Miller, Caroline Miller, Allie Miller; sister of Virginia (late Lawrence) Hall and the late Joseph, Samuel, Richard, Thomas and Angela Dublino; also survived by many nieces and nephews. 

Friends may call at D. LAWRENCE GINNANE FUNERAL HOME 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore Tuesday (December 6th) 3:00 - 6:00 PM.  All are invited to a Mass of Christian Burial from St. Paul’s RC Church Delaware Ave at Victoria Blvd. Kenmore, Wednesday at 10:00 AM.  Entombment Mt. Olivet Cemetery. 

               J. Rita Miller was born and raised in Buffalo.  In 1962 she became a homeowner in Kenmore.  She served as Manager of an Insurance Brokerage for 16 years.  In 1971 she was elected a Trustee of  the Village of Kenmore and served until 1975.  While Trustee she was a Founder of the Kenmore Youth Council in 1972.

                In 1975 she was appointed Executive Director of the Kenmore Housing Authority and served until her retirement in 1998.  During this time she was a member and Past President of the New York State Public Housing Authority Directors Association.

                Rita was active in many Community groups.  She was a member and Past President of the Kenmore Homeowners Association.  She served on the Board of Directors for the Housing Assistance Center of the Niagara Frontier.  She was a member of the Zonta Club of Kenmore and served as its President from 1986 until 1989.

                She was a member of the Junior Board of the Kenmore Wheelchair Home which has now become the Schofield Residence.  She served on the Board of Directors of the Sunset Beach Colony Inc. in Wilson, NY.

Memorial contributions to AMVETS of WNY 1833 Elmwood Ave, Buffalo 14207 are preferred.
