DENMAN - Robert D.
Of Kenmore , February 26, 2020.

Beloved husband of 52 years, to Marguerite “Maggie” Pritchard Denman.   Dear Father of Robert Jr. (Anne), Gregg (Vicki), and Jeffry (Sophie Quist) Denman; loving grandfather of Margaret “Molly”, Sarah, Robert “Trey”, and Paige Denman.  Brother of Joyce (Joseph) Evans, Garry Denman and the late Col. Harold “Pete” Denman retired; also survived by nieces and nephews.

All are invited to a Memorial Mass of Christian Burial at St. Cardinal John Newman Center, 495 Skinnersville Rd., (near Sweet Home Rd.), Amherst, Monday, (March 2nd) at 10:00 AM. Please assemble at church.

Memorials to Roswell Park Foundation, P.O. Box 631, Buffalo, NY 14240 or Hospice Foundation of WNY, 225 Como Park Blvd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227 are preferred.

A life-long resident of Buffalo, NY. He was a graduate of Kenmore West High School.  As a Staff Sergeant in the 107th Combat Support Squadron, Air National Guard, his unit was deployed during the Vietnam War.

Mr. Denman worked in the Insurance industry for over 40 years and was a past President of the Insurance Club of Buffalo.  As part of his time at Maryland Casualty Insurance Company he was the recipient of The National Salesman of the Year Award.

Mr. Denman was a member of the Brounshidle Post #205.  He was a past Board member of the St. Columban’s Retirement Home in Silver Creek, NY. He was a past President of the St. Joseph’s Collegiate Institute Parent’s Guild and the Town Boys and Girls Club. He was instrumental in the merging of five Boys and Girls Clubs to create the Boys and Girls Clubs of the Northtowns. He formed the “Fellows of Riverside”, a gathering of over 20 friends and classmates who grew up together in the Riverside area.

Mr. Denman was an active member of the UB Newman Center and a member of their Men’s Club. He also enjoyed racquetball, fishing, softball and sailing. An avid golfer, he was a past member of Tan Tara Golf Club and Lockport Town and Country Club. His passion for golf led to the creation of a 25 year family golf event in West Virginia that continues to this day.
