Friends may call at D. LAWRENCE GINNANE FUNERAL HOME 3215 Delaware Ave., Kenmore Monday (April 7th) 3:00 – 6:00 PM when funeral service will commence. Interment Elmlawn Cemetery.
Bob was an attorney, Founder and President of Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service for 32 years and member of the Lions Club of Kenmore.
Memorial contributions to Parkinson’s Foundation of WNY 2805 Wehrle Dr. Suite 12 Williamsville 14221 are preferred.
Robert J. Sikorski, 74 years old, founder and President of the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service, which provided special radios and daily readings of newspapers, magazines, books and other printed matters for print handicapped people died March29, 2025 after a long illness.
Mr. Sikorski born in Buffalo, NY and as a student was selected by local history experts and received a certificate. He was twice winner for the Buffalo Historical society, winning the History Bowl competition and was invited to enter a special progress program for advanced students. He was the winner of the Jessie Ketchum Award. He received his Undergrad Degree from Syracuse University and Law Degree from Georgetown University, Washington, DC
From 1980 - 1986 he was General Manager of WBFO Radio Station. He was there for 6 years and established a streamline jazz format and a program called Sound Stage, which played theater music. In 1986 he established the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service using volunteers reading printed matters for print handicapped people. He was with the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service for more than 3 decades and received the Governor’s Eleanor Roosevelt Award.
