Warren Frank Glover, local real estate developer, philanthropist, longtime Buffalo City Hall worker, community activist and local historian has died at 87 on August 31, 2025 at ECMC. Born in Buffalo, NY on June 22, 1938 to Frank George Glover and Ella H. (Popp) Glover, he grew up on Kenmore Avenue across from the Kenmore Community that was a great passion of his life. Dedicated to lifelong learning, he graduating from University of Buffalo in 1960, and received a masters of education from Canisius University in 1964, using it to teach math at several local schools including St. Columba’s. He maintained his ties with University of Buffalo, recently provided the Buffalo plaque at UB for the Golden Snowball Award, given to the NY community with the most snow each year. An Elder at Kenmore Presbyterian Church (PCUSA), he served as Clerk of Session, Church Historian and remained a leader in that congregation until the day he died.

While his primary work involved commercial property assessment, building permits and inspections at Buffalo City Hall, plus building houses privately, every moment of his adult life, Warren wanted to be of value to the people around him, a zeal that led him to guide the Black Rock Historical Society, the Kenmore Historical Society, and the Weather Club of Buffalo (WNY chapter of the American Meteorological Society), and Buffalo Preservation Committee and a life long member of the Buffalo Historical Society. Beginning in 1978, he began volunteering with CROPwalk each October for Church World Service in Kenmore to raise money for local and international hunger concerns, and several years later, he was elected as its local leader, a position he maintained for many years, contributing 46 continuous years of service to CROP, raising millions of dollars over the years.

Warren lived his Christian faith in the generosity of giving, in his attention to the needs of others, and in giving others a grace that is rare to find in the world today. He is mourned by his friends, his co-workers and his church family.

A potluck luncheon is planned for 12:00PM (noon) on Sunday, October 19th, 2025 at Kenmore Presbyterian Church 576 Delaware Road, Tonawanda NY 14223,followed by a Service of Witness to the Resurrection at 12:45 pm. Warren’s friends, neighbors and colleagues are especially encouraged to bring their memories, pictures and stories of Warren and share these with each other.
